The Air Jordan 1 silhouette has been taken in wild new directions, colorway-speaking, over the past couple of years, but recent AJ1 drops have taken the sneaker’s aesthetic back to the OG ways. Now, Jordan Brand is paying respect to the past once again with the Air Jordan 1 “Pine Green.” The shoe, which taps into the OG Bred-inspired color-blocking, gets its release on February 29, but you can shop it ahead of that date at StockX.
Continuing the Black Toe-inspired “Pine Green” Jordan 1 that dropped in 2018, this fresh edition adds green tumbled leather to the shoe in place of the grained textile we got on the 2018 release. White upper elements are replaced with black leather for a darker aesthetic, while the white midsole adds some nice contrast. The 2018 release saw Mid and Low versions drop, but no word yet on whether we’ll get those this time around.
It’s not the first OG-homage-paying Jordan of 2020, either. During NBA All-Star Weekend, Jordan fans were treated to the “New beginnings” pack, which included the “Air Ship,” a silhouette first seen in 1984, and one that helped Michael Jordan kick-off a partnership that is as strong as ever today.
StockX market data shows the “Pine Green” is currently attracting an average sale price of $226 but has reached a 52-week high of $483, meaning it could be a smart time to cop.
