After Dolce&Gabbana unveiled its NS1 sneaker at Milan Fashion Week in June 2019, the Italian brand is back with new colorways of the cozy silhouette to freshen up your spring wardrobe.
The debut version of the NS1 saw two iterations: a high-top and low-top featuring a collapsible heel. The designers’ focus on craftsmanship is evidenced by the mix of premium materials used — from waterproof technical fabrics and suede to nappa and crosta leather. And while the NS1 is an evolution of Dolce&Gabbana’s Sorrento sneaker, huge logos take a backseat for a more subdued hit of branding on the quarter panels.
For SS20, the NS1 is remixed in a range of neutral and eye-catching colorways, setting the tone for our vibrant lookbook shot in New York City by renowned Italian photographer Alessandro Simonetti. To showcase the NS1’s versatility, we tapped three local creatives who call NYC home to style their favorite pairs while rocking head-to-toe Dolce&Gabbana from the brand’s SS20 collection.
Our first location takes us to Regina’s Grocery in Lower East Side, a popular Italian eatery on Orchard Street opened by Roman Grandinetti just three years ago. Grandinetti rocks the “White/Turtle Dove” NS1 in a weekend-ready mixed stripe ensemble for his first look and switches things up with the “Silver/Black” colorway for a night out on the town.
Kei, a skater and fellow LES resident, kicks things up a notch with a tropical-inspired fit featuring cropped pineapple-print pants, coconut-print camp shirt, and “Multicolor” NS1s. Finally, we return to Orchard Street and link with Anwar Isaacs, owner and proprietor of popular barbershop Human Nature. Isaacs shows off the “Grey” NS1 in a drip-worthy Dolce&Gabbana’s monogram print tracksuit in one look and keeps it casual in shorts and all-black NS1s for the second.
