With the shelter-in-place order now lifted, Georgia residents can slowly begin to return to their normal routines. This includes sneakerheads who regularly line up for the next must-cop release.
News station 11Alive reported that this past Saturday, eager shoppers in Atlanta lined up outside Greenbriar Mall with hopes of snagging the Air Jordan 5 “Fire Reds,” as it was the first weekend since Georgia’s shelter-in-place order lifted. The line began at the entrance to Jimmy Jazz and extended all the way outside the mall.
As you can see in the video below, customers were not positioned six feet apart, suggesting that a pair of sneakers is worth the risk of catching the coronavirus for some.

Governor Brian Kemp instructed Georgia residents to continue following social distancing habits after the lockdown ended, with hopes of reducing the risk of exposure to the virus. This includes wearing face masks, staying six feet apart, not gathering in groups, and avoiding crowded areas. Virtually none of these guidelines appeared to be practiced by those lining up for the Jordan release over the weekend.
As more states begin to ease restrictions and end coronavirus lockdowns, similar situations will likely occur. If you’d like to prioritize your health and that of others, you can still cop the “Fire Red” Air Jordan 5s on StockX, because resale price is definitely worth not catching the virus.
