Yesterday, Ronnie Fieg shared a teaser of what looks to be a “Steel Blue” New Balance 992 on his Instagram. The teaser suggests that we could be seeing a release of the sneaker via Fieg’s Kith label soon.
Fieg and Kith have worked closely with New Balance over the years — both on collaborative silhouettes and on Kith-exclusive “Kithstrikes” that are only available for a short period of time.
The 992 that Fieg teased does not look to have any Kith or Fieg branding, making it more likely that this is a Kith-exclusive colorway of the popular 992 model rather than an official collaboration (though that is not confirmed).
As the name suggests, the New Balance 992 features various shades of blue and grey on the upper’s suede, mesh, and leather construction. Stay tuned for further release info.
New Balance recently relaunched the 992, which also happened to be the late Steve Jobs’ favorite model by the New England-based sportswear company. WTAPS and Don’t Be Mad have recently collaborated on the model, and a JJJJound collab is expected to follow at some point this year.
