Model: Dunk Low
Key Features: The Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low features a heat-sensitive upper that changes color as the shoe heats up (or is worn), resulting in a colorful, weather radar-style pattern.
Release Date: August 28
Price: TBC (likely $100)
Buy: Civilist and select skate shops worldwide
Editor’s Notes: Berlin-based skate shop Civilist is no stranger when it comes to collaborations on Nike SB’s Dunk, having reworked the High in 2013. Seven years on, Civilist is putting its spin on the Low variant, which has undoubtedly been the most popular sneaker over the past 18 months.
The Civilist x Nike SB Dunk Low features the aforementioned heat-sensitive treatment on its upper — a gimmick that doesn’t feel overdone our out of place thanks to Nike SB’s fun-loving (and sometimes whacky) history. The heat-sensitivity makes the shoe feel almost interactive and is sure to be one of the hottest drops of the week when it launches on August 29.
