sacai unveiled its upcoming Nike VaporWaffle collaboration at Paris Fashion Week. Teasers and leaks followed, giving us a look at alternate colorways to the three that debuted on the runway (below). Now official Nike product shots of the black/white version and a white/red/blue colorway have surfaced online, suggesting that a release is not too far off.
The sneaker was previously believed to be called the VaporPegasus, though sacai representatives confirmed to Highsnobiety that the collaboration will be officially known as the Vaporwaffle. Much like sacai’s previous Nike collaborations, the Vaporwaffle features a double-everything approach.
The Chitose Abe-helmed brand has turned things up a notch for FW20, though, as the outsole appears to be slightly skewed at the toe tip. A rather hefty midsole looks to split at the heel, giving the sneaker a deconstructed aesthetic as well.
As was the case with the LDWaffle release last year, it’s highly likely that the sacai x Nike VaporWaffle will be one of the most popular drops of the year. Rumors suggest we could be seeing the two colorways above as early as November.
