J. Cole took to Twitter yesterday to announce two new colorways of his signature PUMA Basketball sneaker, the RS-Dreamer. While the shoe has been relatively well-received, getting good reviews for both its 0n-court performance and off-court style, the rapper’s fans were not amused at his announcement.
Fans were quick to jump into Cole’s mentions, telling him they care less about the new colorways and would much rather get a new album soon. It’s important to note that the reaction doesn’t seem to be a rejection of the shoes as much as it’s an insatiable desire for a new J. Cole album. In addition, and to be fair to the fans, Cole’s tweet looks a lot like an album announcement to the untrained eye, so confusion could have perhaps been avoided — unless that was the plan all along?
