Jeff Staple has teamed up with sustainable footwear brand Allbirds for a collaboration that champions transparency. At the center of the joint foray is Staple’s take on Allbirds’ new performance runner, the Tree Dasher.
The Tree Dasher is a running shoe featuring a seamless one-piece upper made with eucalyptus tree fiber, reinforced eyelets, and recycled laces. Staple has turned the sneaker inside out to further showcase its blend of regenerative natural materials.
The Jeff Staple x Allbirds Tree Dasher appears in two colorways, one of which closely mimics the designer’s beloved Staple Pigeon Nike Dunks. The signature pigeon is embroidered on the heel.
The shoe’s standout element is a carbon footprint label. Instead of keeping the tag, which every Allbirds product contains, under the insole, Staple has placed it on the side of the shoe to showcase the carbon footprint designation.
Dropping alongside the sneaker is a limited-edition T-shirt featuring an illustration from the Reed Art Department and the product’s carbon footprint. The top will be available exclusively at Allbirds’ New York store beginning December 10. All proceeds will be given to the Sunrise Movement, a youth-led organization combatting climate change.
Also included in the collaboration is a pair of Allbirds’ classic Trino Tuber socks, which also incorporate the iconic Staple pigeon.
