Today, Social Status has given us an up-close look at its latest collaboration. The retail conglomerate has been tapped by Nike to introduce a brand new silhouette, the Waffle One, as the global debut colorway will release exclusively at Social Status.
In other collaborative news, COMME des GARCONS‘ long-awaited ASICS collection is here, while Vans has just released a new joint effort with Oregon-based artist Chris Johanson. And looking ahead, NYC-based social awareness platform and fashion brand Collina Strada will soon be delivering its first collaboration with Reebok, featuring the Classic Leather and Classic Leather Legacy.

Editor’s Notes: Social Status and the Whitaker group — the latter of which is James Whitner’s umbrella company that overseas his many stores — have been called on by Nike to help introduce an all-new silhouette. Scheduled to release at the end of February is the Waffle One, the latest model to join the iconic Nike Waffle line. This exclusive colorway of the Waffle One references the waffle maker Bill Bowerman used to create the first-ever Nike Waffle sneaker. Limited to 500 pairs, the Social Status x Nike Waffle One will release at Social Status on February 26.

Editor’s Notes: Vans enters the world of Oregon-based surfer and skateboarder, musician, environmental advocate, and renowned artist Chris Johanson for a new multi-sneaker collaboration. The collection spans five footwear designs — and a range of apparel — all of which draws from Johanson’s preferred mediums and artistic styles. We ultimately see urban graffiti themes carried out on numerous silhouettes, including both new and classic Vans models.

Editor’s Notes: New York City-based social awareness platform and fashion brand Collina Strada debuted its first collaboration during New York Fashion Week. The Classic Leather is decorated with stucco brush strokes on one foot and digital glow brush strokes on the other, while the Classic Leather Legacy is dressed in core black with a luminous lilac overlay brush stroke. Following a March 31 release on collinastrada.com, the “Call Mom” collection will launch through reebok.co.uk on April 2.
